Probiotic Advantage

A Probiotic.org Expert Product Review

Product Overview Probiotic Advantage is advertised as a supplement which gives “stronger benefits for your digestion, immunity, and overall health.” Because digestive issues are often caused by fewer good bacteria in the intestinal tract as an individual gets older, this product can replenish the diminishing live active cultures in order to maintain the balance necessary for good health. This supplement works within the first two weeks of adding it to the daily routine.
Manufacturer Mountain Home Nutritionals makes Probiotic Advantage.
Probiotic Strain(s) The proprietary probiotic blend in Probiotic Advantage includes L. acidophilus, B. longum, L. plantarum, B. lactis, L. paracasei, L. rhamnosus, L. salivarius, B. bifidum, B. infantis, L. gasseri.
Colony Forming Units (CFU) Probiotic Advantage contains one billion colony forming units in each beadlet.
Listed Benefits and Studies The Dr. William’s Probiotic Advantage informational site claims that this product can end constipation and help to eliminate diarrhea. In addition, Probiotic Advantage may also reduce gas and recharge the immune system. The company also states that this product may increase the production of cells in the body which fight infection, and it increases the system’s ability to absorb important minerals.
Method of Delivery The ten strains of probiotics contained in this supplement are enclosed in a beadlet with three outer coatings. This triple protection allows the bacterial cultures to pass through the stomach acid intact to deliver the probiotics to the intestines where they will work. According to the manufacturer, the natural gelatin and pectin layers surrounding the live active cultures create a hundred percent acid-resistant shell. Because of this coating, the active cultures are not exposed to oxygen or air, and the vegetable oil inside this shell keeps the cultures at the proper temperature to increase freshness. The beadlets come in bottles of thirty.
Inactive Ingredients Besides the beneficial probiotic strains, this product also contains palm oil, gelatin, soy lecithin, glycerin and pectin.
Listed Directions The manufacturer suggests taking one beadlet with water every day in order to get the maximum benefits from Probiotic Advantage. Chewing or crushing the beadlets is not recommended.
Listed Precautions The company recommends that individuals not reduce, change, or replace other medications with this product without consulting a physician. They also state that this product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent diseases of any kind.
Storage Probiotic Advantage may be stored at room temperature, but it should not be exposed to heat.
Shelf Life An expiration date is stamped on every package, and the probiotic cultures are guaranteed to be effective until this date has passed.
Place of Manufacture Mountain Home Nutritionals, the company which produces Probiotic Advantage, is located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
